Person to Person for PWMS PLUS+

Here's a list of places that are a little more personalized list of resources that help PWMS with the need to find someone else with MS to talk to.   The MS Web Ring was a great way to see what other PWMS are doing.  Maybe you can build a website of your own and join the chorus of people telling it like it is.   Sharing is a good thing.  The ring will be back.

News Groups (NG) are the spice of the internet.  The long standing alt.support.mult-sclerosis has been around a long time.  It is a great place to lurk (to sit back a read what others are saying without actually participating yourself) and even post (to send) your thoughts or ask a question to other PWMS (you'll be surprised how many there are!).  With a NG you aren't bothered with daily floods of emails that you'll have to deal with.  It is more like a continuing bulletin board.   You read what you want to and disregard the rest if you so choose.

Chat forums allow for a more instant feedback in an interactive format.  That is your message goes to everyone right away at the same time.  Others can also respond to your comments.  It sure beats waiting for a response (which would take longer on a NG or mail list).

We all want to know more about the drugs we're taking.   We also need to know more than the friend who tells you about the story of promising new drugs for MS that they heard about on the TV News.  There is also more than one drug search engine.  I like RxList.com because it will do a "fuzzy search" (sounds like) to try and find the right name (can you spell all of the drugs you're taking right now?).  You can also look up information about supplements and alternative medicines today, too!

If this is enough in the way of resources, let's keep looking at what's out there!
