It truly is a remarkable time to be alive!

Today, more than ever, there are new discoveries being made.  So many in fact that an old term is being used to describe the unique thing that's happening.   That term is "Bridge Building."  What's that got to do with multiple sclerosis?  That's a fair question to ask.  Perhaps the biggest "bridge" that was built for PWMS is the discovery of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

MRI technology grew out of discoveries being made in several separate scientific fields.   The end result was the discovery that we could use radio waves and strong magnetic fields to scan living tissue with amazing clarity!   What a break.  Just ask anyone who received their diagnosis before MRI technology was discovered and I'll bet you'll hear a story that will surprise you.  Sometimes (and it still does for some) it could take years before a diagnosis would be made.

If you haven't met someone who was diagnosed before MRIs were discovered then you probably aren't going to an MS support group (sometimes called Self Help groups).   If you have MS, in my own experience, going to support groups and learning how to accept the disease is THE best therapy for you.  Better than any drug or exercise program.  It's true that there haven't been any studies to prove me right about going to support group meetings, why not do your own experiment and find out?

Now, here's something that anyone diagnosed with MS
has either heard or felt at some point in time.
